Energy Transfer and Straw Bale Walls

An Interactive Module

 

During the week of July 27 - 31, 1998, a team composed of teachers and ORNL technology specialists will produce an interactive science module tied to Straw Bale Wall Research at the Buildings and Technology Center (BTC) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The module will address the Science Content Standards for grades 5-8, Physical Science - Energy Transfer.

The module will be constructed so that students move from one level to the next. Each level will contain associated high-interest activities that will be tied to the straw bale wall site in the appropriate manner. An assessment instrument will be administered when work on one level is completed to determine readiness of students to move to the next level. Particular goals and objectives will be set for each level and assessment tied to those expectations.
